STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE TO TEACHING YOU AND YOUR DOG ON THE BASICS

Are you facing the following issues with your dog?

☐ Pulling on the Leash?
☐ Doesn’t obey to your commands?
☐ Get out of control when out of the house?
☐ Easily distracted by the surroundings?
☐ Dog is walking you instead of you walking the dog?
☐ Improper manners towards people and dogs (barking, charging etc)

Some owners may question their dog’s need for obedience training: “But my dog has behavioural issues like barking and chewing, how will basic obedience training help?”

The answer is, basic obedience training is the foundation and first step to solving any behavioural issues. Your dog must first understand basic commands, at the same time understanding the relationship of the alpha/master to dog dynamic. This training makes any future corrections easier.

In our school, we accept dogs as young as 3 months old to take their first step into the journey of obedience training. This is the entry-level for any basic obedience program all dogs undergo.

An initial home visit will be conducted by our professionals to obtain better understanding of your dog’s living environment. We’ll have a detailed discussion of the program outline, taking note of owner-highlighted problems faced before enrolment into the class and another final evaluation is conducted to ensure success. After completion of the program, our school holds a  ‘Graduation Ceremony‘ to certify the dog has successfully completed this program with a proper certificate.

If you are still having difficulties with toilet training, puppy bites and nipping, check out our Puppy Training.

Good Canine Behaviour Shaping

Manners such as control at gates, not jumping-up unless invited and any other random, pushy behaviours are all shaped during your dog’s time at Day School. The pups and dogs receive a lot of positive reinforcement for their individual efforts as their behaviour improves. It’s wonderful to see the positive change taking place after each session and the doggies  are so much happier and easier to manage in such a bustling environment.
