Dog Behavior modification is different from obedience training and is a different ball game to address specific undesired behaviors that obedience training alone cannot resolve.
Very often we see dogs that struggle with anxiety and fear. This fear can lead to aggression if not treated appropriately. In fact, most aggression stems from fear and not from dominance or protectiveness. These dogs come from loving and caring backgrounds as well as abusive and neglectful ones. Just as people can suffer from anxiety and fear, dogs can suffer from them too. The difference between people and dogs is that dogs need a translator to start on the road to recovery.
Based on our 40 years combined dog rehabilitation and training experiences, our trainers will design a master program specific to the issues that each dog is currently facing. We use techniques such as counter-conditioning and desensitization. To keep in top of your mind, you can actually worsen the condition by pushing your dog into more than he is ready for. This is one of the most common mistakes dog owners make. Our goal for every dog is to gradually take them from fearful and uncertainty to confident and happy. By improving the quality of life of the dog, we aim to improve the quality of life of the owner.
With positive and negative reinforcement used, on top of desensitisation is another method we frequently use at school to condition your furkid to stimulus.
The option for “Board and Train” requires your furkid to stay with us for a period of time where desired behaviour is reinforced by our trainers, who have their accomodation in the training compound, allowing consistent interaction and shaping the desired behaviour.
Having round the clock trainers to observe and train your furkids makes the tranisition process a speedier one. With accomodation at our school compound it makes training in the day more convenient and your furkid will adapt to the routine in no time!
